I like this one. Feels like I’m getting back into the old groove.

In an attempt to winnow down the ‘everything’ in ‘solve everything’ we deal with something called the tragedy of the commons, and how we need to wipe out reasonable people in ourselves, and replace them with rational ones. All of this has something to do with blackberry bushes, and how you really really should do exactly what would make you most happy. and if you can’t, at least have a good reason for why you can’t.

  1. Hi there.

I don’t know if you’ve seen much of what Vinay Gupta’s work on systemic disaster management (economic collapse, failed states, that kind of thing), but I think you might find him interesting. He’s got a talk on youtube which discusses colonialism, land piracy, and the unsustainability of the modern west.

Looking forward to the rest of your podcasts, and further work in future. Thanks.

  2. This is the first episode of your show I’ve heard and it was pretty much: brilliant. Consider me subscribed in iTunes.

    – The ‘Other’ Zac (go figure, we have the same name).
